Today, in the snow, Ferrari unveiled their new car; the F2005. Although Ferrari won't start with the new developed car, Schumacher and Barrichello will start in the F2004 M, the modified version of last year's car. The new car is changed in many ways, the majority as result of the new technical and sporting regulations introduced for 2005. Fiat announced today that the ownership of Maserati will be transferred as soon as possible to Fiat. This because than Alfa Romeo and Maserati can co-operate more closely. Maserati will continue its co-operation with Ferrari in industrial, technical, engine and sales network terms. "This is a step forward for both Maserati and Alfa Romeo", said Luca Cordero di Montezemelo, Chairman of Fiat and Ferrari. "Maserati is now at a significant point in its defelopment. Ferrari will introduce the F430 Spider at the Autosalon of Geneva. The car doesn't have the innovative roof of the Superamerica. The engine of the Spider is the same as the Berlinetta version, a 490HP, 4.3 liter V8. Topspeed 310km/h and 0-100km/h in 4,1 seconds. The Spider will be 80kg heavier then the Berlinetta.
At the annual readers' poll "Best Cars" held by the automotive journal Auto Motor Und Sport, the F430 gained the first place. The F430 was voted the Best Imported Sports Car at first try. The poll was held for the 29th time this year with more than 108,000 readers taking part. The award was received at the ceremony held in Stuttgart by Amedeo Felisa, Deputy Managing Director of Ferrari S.p.A.
