Disappointing start of the season |

A double no finish for Ferrari at the first race of 2009 in Australia. The qualification wasn't that good eighter, with a seventh (Massa) and ninth (Raikkonen) time. Massa ended his race thirteen laps before the end and Raikkonen even 3 laps of the end. Very disappointing.
The race will be a historic race because of the winner(s); Button won the race in his Brawn Mercedes, the first race of this new team, of team-owner (and former Ferrari chief) Ross Brawn. Barrichello, also Brawn Mercedes, became second.
Jarno Trulli ended this first race of 2009 as third, very good result since he started the race in his Toyota in the pitlane.
UPDATE: Jarno Trulli had been disqualified because he overtook Hamilton during a savetycar situation. He has been given a 25 seconds penalty and therefor Hamilton got the points for third place, Trulli will be twelfth.
UPDATE 2:Hamilton and McLaren are disqualified for the Australian GP. They are taken out of the results and the points are being taken away. This all because of the 'accident' with Trulli. Trulli overtook Hamilton during a savetycar situation, after he first lost control of his car. Hamilton got orders from his team to let Trulli overtake him, while it's not allowed to overtake during savetycar. |
